Looking for Stories Within Your Region
Literature from Around the World
For our Connected World Project, you have been assigned to a specific region of the world. NOW you are on a search to find some of the greatest literature from your region.
Your job is to find the leading authors from each country in your region. You will compile a list from each country with a minimum of 5 leading authors from each country (if your region has more than 6 countries speak to your teacher regarding the specific amount). From this list (which you will turn into your teacher), you will read one short story from your region and eventually share your reading with the class in a blog.
In your blog, you will be asked to:
· give a background introduction to your author
· a brief summary of the short story
· highlight the theme of the story
· highlight what insight the story provided you about your region
· if possible, connect your story to topic we are studying in class (rich poor gap; health; climate change; energy and natural resources; food crisis; conflict and peace; economic crisis; human rights)
This blog (blog #4) will be due next Friday: April 10th!
